Abstract
As of April 1, 2023, the government increased tobacco excise taxes. The goal of this survey is to study the effect of this increasing the prices of tobacco on the behavior of smokers. Data for the first wave was collected in March 2023, before the first tax increase, data for the second wave in December 2023. As of April 2024 the excise duties on cigarettes and rolling tobacco will be raised even more. This codebook applies to the first measurement of 2024, before the second tax raise.
